GENSPEED Biotech has developed a rapid test for rapid periodontitis diagnosis. The strip test enables the dentist to start the necessary therapy on the same day. On-site diagnostics are as accurate as the findings a patient receives from the laboratory. The chips needed for the test come to about 15 to 30 euros each when sold to doctors, depending on the application. The management buyout from medical technology group Greiner Bio-One was brokered through aws’ i2 business angel initiative and is the largest investment to date through i2, according to the report.
