US strategist acquires EOSS software start-up

Ranorex Corporate Headquarters in Graz

Ranorex was sold to Idera Inc. an Texas software company. 10 years ago Ranorex was founded by EOSS together with Jenö and Gabor Herget.

Graz, Austria & Houston, USA (OTS) – EOSS Industries has agreed the sale of the software company Ranorex to the US strategist IDERA, Inc. Ranorex was one of the fastest growing software companies in Austria during recent years, and at the time of sale employed more than 100 people in Austria and its subsidiary in Florida. IDERA is backed by US private equity funds HGGC from Palo Alto, California, and TA Associates from Boston, Massachusetts. With the acquisition of Ranorex, the B2B software company’s test management division will double in size.

“We are delighted with the performance of Ranorex,” explains Thomas Erkinger. “We followed a very ambitious international growth strategy over recent years, and at the same time we were able to continually increase profits.” EOSS originally founded Ranorex together with the inventors of the Ranorex software, Jenö and Gabor Herget, and has strategically supported the management team of this highly innovative software company ever since. “This successful deal with US investors confirms our ambition to be active in the US market in the very near future,” reports Erkinger. Currently EOSS is focusing their efforts on digitalization and MedTech. Ranorex recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and has been honored as a top employer on many occasions. The company distributes its software products globally to more than 70 countries, with customers including many well-known brands such as Cisco, Dell, Motorola and Siemens. With the acquisition of Ranorex, IDERA is adding to its portfolio of test management companies. Last year, the Houston-based software group took over Berlin's test management startup Gurock. IDERA provides database, development and test management tools to over 50,000 customers. Rautner Rechtsanwälte and Deloitte Styria advised EOSS Industries on the sale.
